Tank: H&M. Shirt: thrifted. Jacket (under): PacSun. Leather jacket: TJ Maxx. Jeans: Charlotte Russe. Boots: Spring. Jewelry: Forever 21.

After a week of studying hard and being a good student, I was ready to break out the badass as a celebratory start to spring break. The skeleton tank, what I like to call my “grave-stomping” boots, and of course, a leather jacket, give this look just enough edge. The coffee and cigarette only heighten the punky I-don’t-care vibe. (Although, I will note I’m not a smoker!) Lastly, the playground seemed to be a great juxtaposition–child play plus teenage delinquency. Thoughts?

Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t been posting as much; I’ve had a busy week. I love British culture and style. London gals rock the grungy/edgy look so well! This outfit highlights my edgier side by incorporating black, distressed fabrics, and lots of metal hardware. Hope you like it!

Jacket and Scarf: TJ Maxx. Sweater: Gap. Pants: H&M. Loafers and Backpack: Urban Outfitters. Beanie and Jewelry: Forever 21.

Today I ran some errands and went shopping. It was quite windy, so instead of trying to tame my hair I just threw a beanie on and called it a day. If you’re familiar with GW, you’ll find A LOT of preppy kids around campus. Thing is, I tend to lean in the opposite direction. However, I found a happy medium with this preppy meets urban look. What do you think?

Tribal on Edge

Leather jacket and scarf: TJ Maxx. Blazer, Pants, Belt and Jewelry: Forever 21. Top: thrifted. Boots: Gojane.com. Bag: Urban Outfitters.

Today I styled my outfit around my new, tribal print boots from Go Jane. I started with a black base, and added a top with tribal details. The red and teal colors of my blazer, socks and scarf match colors in the boots, and add some brightness to an otherwise dark, edgy look. To play up the edgy-ness, I added one of my favorite leather jackets, a studded belt and silver jewelry. I think it’s a rather unexpected combination, but I like how it turned out! Let me know what you think.

Jacket: JouJou. Sweater and Tights: Express. T-Shirt: Urban Outfitters. Skirt: Forever 21. Booties: Chinese Laundry. Scarf: unknown. Bag: H&M. Socks: American Eagle.

In high school I was all about florals, pastels, and everything girly. Since then, I’ve grown to appreciate edgy pieces as well as more sophisticated palettes and silhouettes. However, I like to add a bit of┬áfemininity┬áto my outfits every once in a while, and what better way to do so than with a cropped tee featuring a magnificent swan with lavender plumage? I love the contrast of the leather moto jacket and dark palette with the swan tee, purple metallic skirt and lavender silk scarf. It’s like high school again…only a bit more grown up.
